Hi guys,
Ros has asked me to announce this as she is too glum about it and feels bad for everyone concerned.
The two of us have been talking this past couple of weeks about the viability of keeping the shard running with only an average of two players and have decided that it is impractical to continue paying out month after month when there are so few players left. So we are very sorry to have to tell you all that the shard will be closing down as of this friday.
We decided to leave it until friday so that you can all get together with friends on the shard and discuss your next move and it also gives you time to explore a few new places to play.
We really are very sorry but after almost 18 months of running a stable shard, Ros is understandably frustrated by the decline in players to an all time low. Unfortunately, with her having to put so much time into her new website and business it has left her with very little time to work on the shard and get involved during the past few weeks, and I think it has also allowed her to stand back and seriously think about it all.
Runuo 2 is now out as you all probably know, and due to the amount of custom scripts we use, it really is a huge task to convert, she has actually spent several days working on this already, but her heart isn't really in it.
Unfortunately, over the past year or so, every time we have seemed to be building a reasonable player base, some drama has kicked off between groups of players, and as a result a bunch leave. This has happened at least 4 or 5 times and each time has caused untold stress and upset with Ros and myself often up until 6am trying to sort things out and calm everyone down. This was really the reason that I largely stopped playing around 6 months ago and I havent been able to regain any interest for any substantial period of time ever since. Ros has battled on until the last month or so when real life things have had to take priority.
We both thank all our staff for everything they have done and for all their work, our ex staffers Nem and Kronos who helped build the shard right at the start and of course all our players past and present.
Also a special thank you to Ilaura who has played almost since day one, through thick and thin and has always been happy and cheerful and to Qog who has made me laugh out loud so many times and has always come straight to us with bugs that she has found, plus without doubt is the best PvM dexer I have ever watched.
I daresay that Ros will add to this thread now that I have started the ball rolling and I am sure that she will be more than happy to keep in touch with anyone that wants to pass on their msn to her.
Peace guys and thank you for spending a part of your lives with us, we consider ourselves priveliged and you have our utmost respect. We hope most of you will find a new shard and manage to stay together. Remember, its not where you are that matters, so much as who you are with.
